20th Century Fox has announced a film based on the best-selling illustrated novel Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney which chronicles the adventures of wisecracking middle school student Greg Heffley over the course of an academic year, as told through the young man’s diary and hand-drawn cartoons. The film has a second lead character by the name Chirag Gupta. He’s presumably the shortest person in his class. Greg says that Chirag is small but he has a very powerful punch. Twentieth Century Fox also held auditions for this role and they asked for an Indian kid and about 9000 kids auditioned for the role in last 2 months. One of the kids was my mentor Harry Brar’s son Karan Brar and he got the role.

The filming has finished and the film is due to release in April 2010. I was asked to design a website for Karan and so i did. Its very much Diary of a Wimpy kid oriented… well quite obviously…
