FTI Expected as Key Partner to Strengthen ASEAN-China SMEs Ties

On 30 June 2025, Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) met with Mr. Aroon Eamsureya, Chairman of the Thai-Chinese Economic and Investment Institute of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) in Bangkok.

SG Shi spoke highly of FTI’s significant role in facilitating economic development in Thailand and introduced the ACC’s efforts in the field of trade and investment, particularly in supporting the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Against the backdrop of the U.S. tariff war, it is expected that enterprises from China and ASEAN countries including Thailand to enhance exchanges and seek more cooperative opportunities together. The ACC stands ready to provide tailored support in response to the demand of Thailand, such as talent training, facilitating Thai products’ access to the Chinese market, and fostering sustainable and mutually beneficial partnerships for SMEs, etc. SG Shi also welcomed the FTI’s support and participation in the upcoming ASEAN-China Economic Forum 2025: Climate Investment and Green Innovation to be hosted by the ACC in Bangkok.

Chairman Aroon commended the ACC’s achievements and expressed his hope to leverage the Forum and training programmes as opportunities to help Thai enterprises gain deeper insights into the Chinese market and policies, enhance SMEs capabilities, so as to contribute to the Thailand’s socio-economic progress.
